Multi-state criminal suspect arrested in Montgomery Co. after chase in stolen car, deputies say

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Montgomery County deputies said they arrested a man who was on a crime spree across at least 5 states.

Deputies said Leonard Baker was taken into custody on Friday after they received a tip from Alabama law enforcement.

The sheriff's office said Baker broke into a car at the YMCA in The Woodlands before leading deputies on a slow-speed chase.

Deputies said Baker was eventually arrested at a nearby Target.

According to officials, Baker had been involved in thefts in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana.
